Shoot

On Friday I will be shooting my new collection, so this week I have been busy making little props for the shoot and trying to remind myself how to construct a basic garment.
Everything is just balanced on the cloak in the image above, I dont want to attach them just yet as I need to some how transport the cloaks, collars and buttons safely to London.

Ash Bash

My new favourite thing... my handmade Ash Bash Snow bunny T-shirt!

My friend Ashley has designed a range of lovely handmade hats, t-shirts and sweatshirts. As well as Ashley being a very talented designer she is also a ski instructor, so when designing this collection she carefully considered materials and what is suitable for the slopes.

The Ash Bash website is on its way... http://www.ashbashdesigns.com/

New Collection....

Here are my final prototypes of my new collection!
I've really enjoyed producing these pieces, most of my inspiration comes from animals so I thought I would embrace this... my overactive imagination went into overdrive resulting in these magical creatures! These pieces will be available to buy in Kabiri in March.

Questions

Haha this is cracking...although someones beard is getting a little out of hand!

I sewed these question marks and clouds for Rob a while back, it is for an A-Z project he has been carrying out for a uni project.

"For the letter Q of my A-Z I have the word questions.

I believe we should never let that six year old with in us die, the age when we are most inquisitive.

Why this, why that?

It fades as we grow older and (in theory) wiser, but to stay wise would mean to always be questioning what we know, in order to adapt to changes and evolve as human beings and creative individuals. We should not take things at face value every time, we owe it to our selves to delve deeper into what ever it may be we find your selves doing.

Possibly finding the answer after having asked the question is surely better than not asking the question and never finding the answer."

You can see all of his hard work for the project here.

Boxes

I made these boxes from scratch to present my new Lookbook, Media Kit and Pressbook, they were all colour coded to correspond with the colour of the line on each item.
Still no laptop! It was meant to come back to me today, but the snow put a stop to that.
Back outside to make snow rabbits.

Container Complete

Here are some lovely photo's taken by Patricia from Container Plus of the completed AMV BBDO Installation that we put together a couple of weeks ago.

"Staff were invited to submit their thoughts for an ideal Christmas, answers included – Christmas morning would be spent swimming in a steaming vat of gingerbread latte, as opposed to the chill of the serpentine and A snowball fight with the Arsenal team on Highbury Fields followed by all the people in the world I love camped round a blazing fire in a medieval castle exchanging Xmas presents and dreams for the new year!

We screen printed the responses onto white paper ribbons and draped them from the ceiling and around the Christmas tree. We also made a festoon of lights to illuminate the ribbons at ceiling height and added some snow drifts to the windows." Container Plus.

Navajo Lookbook

My lookbooks arrived today, (second time round ooops).
I'm really pleased with how they came out. I was a bit worried as the printer that I used, gives you no control over the paper stock, however they came out fine and the paper stock isn't bad! I will try and take some better pictures later this week.
Thanks to Rob for designing my lovely typeface and Logo!

Container Plus: Part 2

This weekend we put up the AMV BBDO installation. We had to review idea of the paper ribbons wrapping around each other as this was very fiddly to arrange whilst on scaffolding. After some re-arrangement the installation really looked good, I am awaiting the final photographs of the comleted installation.

Going Somewhere

Going Somewhere from I Will Create on Vimeo.

On Saturday night I helped Rob out with his stop frame animation. It was the most painstaking animation yet...even more than when I had to be in an E4 box on a hot august day, and it took even longer than the Glug- All I want for Christmas animation, where I was actually barricaded in my room for the day because all my furniture had to be against the door in order to shoot it.
Although it was freeeeeeezing, seeing it when it has all been put together makes me forget a bout how cold and tired I was (a little bit).
Welldone Rob!

Media Kit Images, Behind the Scenes

Today I shot the photographs for my media kit that I am putting together.
As I specialise in set design and accessories, I thought it would be nice to combine the two in a way that would get across my personality.
These are some behind the scenes snaps taken on my phone, I will put up the photoshopped, completed images in the next few days.

A bit last minute...

Here is my very last minute Bestival outfit, because I've been away I forgot about sorting out my Space themed costume...luckily I usually work with metallic fabrics so I rustled up a few things that were hanging around my room, did a bit of very quick sewing and they are now going to be shoe horned in as part of my costume..some how!

Im noticing a pattern...

Its begining to be a yearly event where every september I try and learn to knit (im not sure why it always seems to be in september?) well i try to improve my very basic knitting skills anyway. I keep it going for about a month then forget everything I learnt and start all over again a year later.
I have been in portugal for a few days so I thought it would be a good time to pick up knitting again, especially because expert knitters Grandma and Aunty Mavis were there to tutor me and correct quite a few of the many mistakes I made! here is the finished result my lovely green hairband....I think me and crocheting get on better than me and knitting do.
